Element Definitions A-C

It's important for us to be aware of these other identities. They are not just names. There are real people who find themselves in these lists and being seen can be life-changing for many. Which elements do you most identify with? 

These lists will be updated yearly because our community is always evolving.  

Abrosexual

Someone whose sexuality is changing or fluid. (Ex: someone could be gay one day, then be asexual the next, then polysexual the next.)

Aftgender:

This is a person who identifies with the pronouns they were assigned at birth, but they want to change their body to the opposite sex.

Agender:

Someone who identifies as genderless or gender neutral.

Agenderflux:

Someone who fluctuates between different gender identities.

Akiosexual:

Someone who may feel attracted to someone, but does not want the feeling to be reciprocated. They may lose the feeling of attraction if it is reciprocated.

Aliagender:

A gender identity that is neither male, female, neutral gender, absence of gender, nor any other gender.

Allosexual:

Someone who experiences sexual attraction to others, but doesn't necessarily align themselves with a particular sexual identity. (Also known as zedsexual)

Anchillean:

Someone who identifies as a man who is attracted to other men, sometimes called men loving men (MLM).

Androgyne:

A non-binary gender identity in which one is male and female at the same time.

Androsexual:

A sexual orientation where a person is attracted to men, males, and/or masculinity in general

Aporagender:

A nonbinary gender identity and general term meaning a gender separate from male, female, and anything in between but still having a very strong and specific gendered feeling.

Aromantic:

A person who feels little or no romantic feelings to another person.

Asexual:

A person who feels little to no sexual attraction to anyone and has little to no interest in sexual activities.

Bicurious:

A person (usually one who identifies as heterosexual) who typically who is curious to engage in sexual activity with a gender that is different than their usual partners.

Bisexual:

This is someone who is attracted to more than one gender.

Black_Transgender:

Created to highlight and acknowledge the fact that Black trans individuals experience higher rates of discrimination, violence, and murder than other groups of trans people.


Butch Lesbian:

Historically and today, the term "butch" refers a woman whose gender expression presents as typically "masculine".

Ceterosexual:

Sexual attraction to non-binary people. It also known as skoliosexual or allotroposexual.

Cupioromantic:

Someone who wants a romantic relationship, but does not feel romantic attraction..

Cupiosexual:

A sexuality on the asexual spectrum, cupiosexual is someone who does not experience sexual attraction but still likes to have sex.
